DeezCuts is an iPhone app that turns your song and your footage into music videos, shorts and captions, and can post them for you. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, who helps us run the app, how long we keep things and how to delete them.
What stays on your phone
Your camera takes, the footage you pick, your drafts, your finished videos and your settings are saved on your iPhone. If you delete the app, they go with it.
What we collect and why
- Your account. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, your email address and a Google account ID. We use them to sign you in and to reach you about your account. We don't receive your Google password, and we don't access your Gmail, Drive or anything else in your Google account.
- Your songs. When you add a song, the audio is uploaded to our servers so we can find the tempo and the sections and read the lyrics with their timing.
- Your footage. To pick your best takes and line them up with the song, the clips you choose are uploaded to our servers, analyzed and used to build your edit. They are deleted after the video is made.
- Captions. To write captions, we send the song title, a lyric line, the release date, your artist name, your genres, the emojis you like and your caption preferences to an AI service.
- Posts. When you post or schedule a post, the finished video file and its caption are stored on our servers until it goes out.
- Connected accounts. When you connect Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Facebook, you sign in with that platform through our posting partner. They hold the access, not us. The app only remembers which accounts are connected. We may read back basic numbers for your posts, like views and likes, to suggest better times to post.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your card or payment details. We only learn which plan you have.
We don't use advertising trackers, we don't show ads, and we don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who helps us run DeezCuts
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Supabase runs sign-in and stores uploaded songs and footage.
- Modal runs the servers that analyze your songs and footage and build your edits.
- OpenAI transcribes lyrics from your song and writes captions.
- Cloudflare stores finished post files until they go out.
- Upload-Post connects your social accounts and publishes your posts.
- Google lets you sign in.
- Apple handles subscriptions and payments.
Each of these companies handles your information under its own privacy policy and only for the work we ask of it. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep things
- Uploaded footage is deleted after your video is made.
- Post files are deleted within 60 days of being uploaded. Files prepared ahead of time are deleted within 14 days.
- Uploaded songs and your account details are kept while you use DeezCuts, so you can keep making videos for that song.
Deleting your data
Email support@deezcuts.app from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete your account. We'll delete your account and the songs and files on our servers within 30 days. To remove a social account, disconnect it in the app or in that platform's settings. Anything already posted to a platform stays there until you delete it on that platform.
Permissions on your iPhone
DeezCuts asks for the camera and microphone so you can film takes, and for your photo library so you can pick footage and save your videos. You can change these at any time in iPhone Settings.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect and delete what we no longer need.
Children
DeezCuts is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app.
